BernieA weekend with Bernie

LET’S face it, Shakespeare is not for everyone. Traditional productions complete with tights and ruffs can put as many people off as fascinate others, but the Lyric in Hammersmith has a version which sounds perfect if you have previously been bored with the bard. Frantic Assembly’s Othello is a modern take, with the central character a bouncer at the local pub in a northern town.

FULHAM is a great place to live – although if you like concerts there isn’t exactly much choice. Try St John’s. The church in North End Road is expanding its series of classical concerts and this autumn series will be followed by a spring season.

If you have any events you would like to see listed contact Bernie at handfnews@lbhf.gov.uk or write to her at h&f news, Hammersmith Town Hall, King Street, London, W6 9JU.

There are many activities to choose from and we know that parents and carers want to encourage children and young people to participate. But how do you know if they are safe?  You can read a 'Have fun and be safe' guide online on the NSPCC's website Have fun and be safe (opens new window) or call the Children's Information Service direct on 020 8735 5868 to request a copy.
