The Graffiti Action Team

The Graffiti Action Team in Environmental Enforcement & Protection is responsible for graffiti removal from the borough’s parks and open spaces, the public highway, private properties, industrial land, alleyways, non illuminated street furniture as well as some highway sites.

The team have 3 main removal methods; 

• sandblasting
• chemical jetting
• painting             

Racist or abusive graffiti

Racist or offensive graffiti will be removed by the Graffiti Action Team within 24 hours of being reporting. All other graffiti will be removed within 5 working days. 

Private properties

We offer a free graffiti removal service from private properties across the borough. To receive the service you must be the owner or the leaseholder of the property and to benefit from this free service, the graffiti must be less than 2 metres high and reachable from the ground.

Graffiti on highways structures

Graffiti on highway structures such as foot-bridges and subways and illuminated street furniture is dealt with by Highways & Engineering Services in the Environment Services Department.
