Traffic management - venues and events
During special events we use temporary measures to manage traffic and parking. We develop schemes with event organisers, the police and other emergency services. They can include temporary one-way systems, road closures, suspended parking bays, extended waiting and loading restrictions and extended hours of operation in Controlled Parking Zones . These schemes help to reduce the nuisance to local residents caused by the events and make sure that emergency services can access the area.
Football matches
During the football season we introduce special traffic and parking measures around the three major football stadiums in the borough. The dates of this season are listed below:
- Queens Park Rangers Football Club matches, Loftus Road Stadium (2 August 2008 to 25 April 2009)
- Fulham Football Club matches, Craven Cottage Stadium (19 July 2008 to 24 May 2009)
- Chelsea Football Club, Stamford Bridge Stadium (16 August 2008 to 16 May 2009)
- Pre-season match dates are included
