Traffic management - venues and events

During special events we use temporary measures to manage traffic and parking.

We develop schemes with event organisers, the police and other emergency services.

They can include temporary one-way systems, road closures, suspended parking bays, extended waiting and loading restrictions and extended hours of operation in Controlled Parking Zones.

These schemes help to reduce the nuisance to local residents caused by the events and make sure that emergency services can access the area.

Football matches

During the football season we introduce special traffic and parking measures around the three major football stadiums in the borough. This season ends Sunday May 13, 2012.

• Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations: Saturday 2 to Tuesday 5 June 2012 inclusive. There will be various residents' street parties held throughout the borough during this four day period
