Travel Plans

Travel Plans are management tool to promote sustainable modes of transport to schools and workplaces.

Apart from the benefits such as reduced congestion, improved health and better corporate image, there are many funding opportunities available from Transport for London. They can help you implementing sustainable transport infrastructure on your site to help you meeting your targets.

Currently we are working together with many schools, businesses and organisations in the borough to develop and implement their travel plans.

School Travel Plans

In line with the Mayor of London’s targets, we are working with schools in the borough to develop School Travel Plans. These plans aim to increase the number of pupils and staff travelling to school by walking, cycling, car sharing or public transport. Schools are asked to find out about the travel patterns of pupils and staff then set realistic targets on how the patterns can be changed. Travel Plans also raise awareness of reasons why travel habits have to change, such as congestion and air pollution.

We support these plans with road safety reviews of the areas near to schools. These reviews identify the improvements we need to make, which can include upgraded pedestrian crossings, traffic calming measures, 20mph zones and school crossing patrol services (commonly known as ‘lollipop ladies’).

Workplace Travel Plans 

Currently there are two support packages available from Transport for London and Hammersmith & Fulham Council which includes substantial financial and consultative support for your business/organisation.  

• ENTERPRISE - package for small and medium sized businesses with 20-250 members of staff
• CORPORATE - package for large businesses with over 250 members of staff.       

The support can include secure cycle parking, shower/changing facilities, video conference facilities, bike repair kits, rain jackets and lots more…
