Stop Means Stop

Road Safety Campaign

A London-wide road safety campaign called 'Stop Means Stop' has been launched by Hammersmith & Fulham Council.

The law requires drivers to stop when ordered to do so by a school crossing patrol (or 'lollipop lady/man') with a stop sign.

The campaign will use huge adverts on the back of double-decker buses to remind drivers of their legal requirement to stop. Drivers who ignore the law are putting the lives of children, parents and the patrols in danger.

Drivers who do not stop could receive a £1000 fine and three penalty points, or be disqualified from driving. London councils are working with the Police to prosecute drivers who fail to do so.
