Result: Sands End ward by-election
Result of the Sands End by-election in Fulham, 1 May 2008:
Hammersmith & Fulham has a new councillor after Ali de Lisle (Conservative) won the Sands End by-election with 2,257 votes. Cllr de Lisle increased the Conservative majority from 790 votes in 2006 to 1,110. Brendan Bird (Labour) was second with 1,147 votes and Dugald MacInnes (Liberal Democrats) third with 518 votes. The by-election was called after Cllr Jeanette Bentley resigned to take a job abroad. Cllr de Lisle will serve until 2010.
