Hammersmith and Fulham Homes is offering a New Deal to leaseholders.
In a new drive to boost satisfaction among leaseholders H&F Homes have outlined plans to revamp their services by launching the New Deal.
The New Deal promises a fresh commitment to listen to leaseholders, giving residents more chance to get involved in H&F Homes decisions and ensure that services deliver value for money.
H&F Council Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Adronie Alford, said: “The council wants leaseholders to be much happier with the services that H&F Homes provides. We know H&F Homes leaseholder services need to improve and we are taking action to drive up standards.
“The New Deal proves that we are serious about improving services and recognise that leaseholders’ views are central to that process.”
A variety of initiatives have already been introduced, including new locally based leasehold forums. These have been established to give leaseholders the opportunity to share concerns with H&F Homes and one another. A central leaseholder panel will, in turn, bring together representatives from the local forums so that H&F Homes can respond to any issues as a matter of priority.
A new leaseholders’ handbook has been issued, the leasehold services teams have been decentralised, an Annual Leaseholders Conference has been introduced and there are now improved payment options for major works charges.
Other improvements include a revamped consultation process for leaseholders whose properties are due for works under the Decent Homes programme. It will also mean better communication arrangements leading up to the start of works on site.
Cllr Alford added: “This is just the start and there is more to do. There are plenty of good ideas in the pipeline, including a commitment from H&F Homes to review their billing arrangements to ensure that leaseholders are provided with as much detail as they need.”
