Your parks your say

by Hammersmith and Fulham Press Office
01/07/2008

Have your say on the future of the borough’s parks and open spaces at two special feedback sessions at the Town Hall next week.

The events will give people the opportunity to tell the council what they would like to see as it continues to work on its parks and open spaces strategy.

The new strategy will aim to coordinate improvements in facilities, quality, management, and accessibility and will also promote the use and enjoyment of parks and open spaces to more individuals and groups in the community.

The sessions will take place on Monday July 7, from 2pm to 4pm and also from 6pm to 8pm.

Cllr Paul Bristow, cabinet member for residents’ services, said: “We need residents to tell us what they would like to see in our parks. We have some beautiful green spaces in Hammersmith & Fulham and we are committed to enhancing them further over the coming years but in order to maximise their potential we really need the input of residents and park visitors.”

In addition to the feedback sessions, residents who’d like to communicate ideas for improvement can now use Greenstat (www.greenstat.org.uk - opens new window), an online tool that allows park visitors to give observations and suggestions on any park in the borough. The information will be used to gauge resident satisfaction, quickly address problem areas and improve facilities where needed.

Cllr Bristow added: “I hope to see as many people as possible on Monday July 7. Our ParkLife campaign has shown how much we value our parks and open spaces, so now is the time to make your voice heard.”

If you would like to attend one of the feedback please contact the park development team on 020 8753 2292 or parks@lbhf.gov.uk.
