Celebrating Fulham, running from 28 June to 6 July promises something for everyone as residents, businesses and visitors enjoy the very best in the area’s history, talent and entertainment and the chance to discover some of the area’s hidden gems.

Councillor Frances Stainton, Cabinet Member for Culture and Heritage, said: “We have expanded this event to stimulate business and give lots of fun for all ages in the program. The council, with the welcome input of the Fulham Society, local businesses and groups, is delighted to bring you this year’s Fulham town centre summer event ‘Celebrating Fulham.’ The week will see a wide range of attractions for people of all ages, including classical and contemporary music, food, history, sport, art and entertainment, with the unique glass blowing foundary's demonstration too. I hope as many people as possible take part in the multitude of wonderful events that are planned”.

The week starts on Saturday 28 June with Fulham FEASTival which celebrates the culinary diversity of Fulham through food products. It will include street and music performances, cooking demonstrations and food sampling and takes place from 12 noon to 4.30pm at Fulham Island, Jerdan Place, Farm Lane by St Johns Church. Cllr Stainton will officially open Celebrating Fulham at 1pm during this event.

By popular request, the bat walk returns around the gardens of Fulham Palace at 9pm on Sunday 29 June. There will also be a meat cutting course at Parson's Nose Quality Butchers, 753 Fulham Road on Wednesday 2 July. Please call 020 7736 4492 to book a place on this course.

If that does not tickle your fancy, you could go and hear live swing music from the ‘Paggs Rat’ at Il Pagliaccio, 182-184 Wandsworth Bridge Road, from 12 noon to 12pm on Wednesday 2 July. Alternatively, why not go on a morning walk from the Lilla Huset to Fulham Palace led by Jane Kimber, the borough archivist. Those interested should meet at H&F Archives and Local History Centre, The Lilla Huset, 191 Talgarth Road, at 11am.

On the same day, the only glass blowing foundary in London Aaronson Noon Glass Studio, Roxby Place will be taking centre stage. On offer will be demonstrations by the famous glass artist Adam Aaronson and a half-day glass blowing course offering an exciting and intensive experience aimed at introducing beginners or novices to the wonders of hot glass. If you are looking for a fabulous day out for all the family then you could visit the Parson’s Green Fair on Saturday 5 July. The fair features two live music and entertainment stages, hundreds of stalls, a food court, fun fair, children’s entertainment and much more.

Cllr Stainton, added: “Come and discover what is on offer in Fulham. Free Programs with a map are available from Hammersmith Town Hall and shops in Fulham.

“Many thanks to our town centre manager, the Fulham Society and all those who contributed, with such enthusiasm, to bring you ‘Celebrating Fulham’. I look forward very much to seeing you all again this year.”
