Your views on health are needed
A new network is being created to ensure that health and social care providers are aware of the views of local people.
From April 2008, Local Involvement Networks (LINks) will replace Patient Involvement Forums (PPIF). The aim of the LINk is to simplify and strengthen the current system of holding to account both NHS and social care commissioners.
LINks will work with voluntary and community organisations and interested individuals as well as with the community more generally. The local LINk will be supported by an organisation appointed by the Council. During the interim, the council's Better Government programme will support the LINk.
A meeting will be held on 2 April, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, at the Irish Centre, Blacks Road, Hammersmith, where members of the public will be able to find out more about the LINk and to discuss the initial priorities for its work.
Cllr Antony Lillis, Cabinet Member for Community and Children’s Services, said: "I hope as many people as possible attend the meeting on 2 April. This is your opportunity to find out what the LINk is and give us your suggestions on how it might operate."
If you would like to attend the meeting please call 020 8753 2544 or email Rachael.Osodi@lbhf.gov.uk.
