The final of Hammersmith and Fulham’s Young Chef of the Year takes place this week (February 26).
Seven budding chefs will take part in the competition held at the T.A.S.T.E. Restaurant at Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College. They each had to win their school round to get to the hour-long ‘cook-off’ final, where they will have to make a two-course meal.
The finalists are from the Bridge Academy, Fulham Cross Girls School, Young People’s Development Programme Family Trust, Godolphin and Latymer School, The Moat School, Latymer Upper School and Phoenix High School.
The winner will receive an iPod and accessories worth £250, while runners-up will receive vouchers to spend at HMV.
Councillor Antony Lillis, H&F’s cabinet member for community and children’s services and the Mayor, Councillor Anthony Johnson, will be guests at the final.
Cllr Lillis said: “The competition is set to be an exciting one and it is the perfect opportunity for the next generation of talented chefs in the borough to shine.”
