Pupils from Henry Compton School in Fulham have returned home after a life changing trip to India.
The students visited the Bangalore region and spent ten days living in a remote village building toilets for local people.
Student Ali Freek, said: “The trip was great and gave us the opportunity to establish and explore different people’s cultures and thoughts. We became very close to all of the community and could see that they appreciated our work.”
Another pupil, Sam Reid, said: “My highlight was getting to know everybody well, learning about myself and what I need to do to better myself. I enjoyed seeing the impact we made on the village.”
The group ended their whirlwind trip with a foot safari in Bandipur National Park. The trip was sponsored by North Fulham New Deals for Communities and Raleigh International.
Henry Compton has a well established tradition of sending students and teachers to experience other cultures and traditions around the word. Pupils from the school have recently visited South Africa and Columbia.
