Time of your Life

This year’s Time of Your Life celebration proved as popular as ever, with a fashion show, health checks, line dancing, gardening workshop and a jazz band among the many events that took place on the day.
Residents of the borough over the age of 50 were invited to Hammersmith Town Hall for a packed day of fun. The day also featured a light lunch and transport was laid on to ferry people to the celebration from right across the borough.
Pat Oldman volunteers with the teas and coffees every year. She said: "Time of your Life really is a wonderful event. It is great for all of the people to get together and have a good social. It is a brilliant way to meet up with friends and we all enjoy chatting to the councillors."
Council departments, health providers and community and voluntary groups were on hand to give information and advice on issues such as housing and the environment, welfare benefits, pensions, healthy living, podiatry (foot health) and falls prevention.
Cllr Antony Lillis, cabinet member for community and children’s services, opened the event and said, “The Time of Your Life event is a great way for the council to demonstrate its commitment to older people. It was wonderful to see so many people turn up to enjoy the day.”
