Hammersmith and Fulham is officially ‘blooming marvellous’ after winning a silver honour at the recent London in Bloom awards.
London in Bloom is an environmental campaign that invites neighbourhoods from across the capital to breath new life into their local green spaces.
Judges visited H&F in July and were amazed with what they saw. They were particularly impressed with Normand Park, which has just been rejuvenated to the tune of £3m by the council and North Fulham New Deal for Communities.
Other areas that were commended included the scented garden at Ravenscourt Park in Hammersmith, St Peter’s Square and the Godolphin Road community gardens.
This year’s silver award is the borough’s best ever result. And part of the credit for that improvement goes to Quadron Services, the highly-respected grounds maintenance experts who were brought on board by the council earlier this year to ensure that the borough’s parks and open spaces look at their very best come rain or shine.
Cllr Paul Bristow, cabinet member for residents’ services, said: “This is excellent news for all residents. We have some wonderful parks and open spaces in Hammersmith & Fulham and we are all committed to ensuring they look at their very best all year round. Quadron Services has a proven track record in delivering improvements to parks and open spaces and we are pleased to be reaping the benefits of their expertise and know-how.”
