Leader listens

Council Leader, Cllr Stephen Greenhalgh, is holding a series of neighbourhood meetings to listen to the concerns and ideas of local residents.

Residents are being invited to put Cllr Greenhalgh on the spot. Around 2,000 residents are being invited at random to attend, with Cllr Greenhalgh answering questions for nearly two hours at each session. And, in the sessions already held, issues raised have included traffic management, dog fouling, community safety, anti-social behaviour and housing service.

"This council is intent on engaging with residents at every opportunity, listening to local concerns and acting upon them,” said Cllr Greenhalgh.

"This is a fantastic example of local democracy in action. We are discussing a huge range of issues."
