A tenant from hell who racially abused his neighbours has been evicted from his H and F Homes property following a joint operation by the council and police.
George Cobbinah, of 27B Godolphin Road, Shepherds Bush, made numerous false, racially-motivated allegations against his Irish neighbours. He accused one of them of being in the IRA and even called the police and told them he was wanted for various crimes in America.
Cobbinah has now been evicted following close partnership work between the council’s anti-social behaviour unit, H&F Homes and the police.
Cllr Greg Smith, cabinet member for crime and anti-social behaviour, said: "All residents deserve to be able to live in peace and I feel sorry for the neighbour’s of Cobbinah who have had to put up with his racism. Anti-social behaviour like this will not be tolerated in Hammersmith & Fulham and I am delighted that the various agencies have been able to work together and evict him."
A second tenant has also recently been evicted from her H&F Homes property. Tina Green, of 3 Nella Road, threatened and verbally abused an H&F Homes officer and refused to pay her rent. She has now been ordered to stay away from the property until the end of January 2009.
In a further case, a man has been banned from entering Castledown Road, West Kensington, after repeatedly causing criminal damage to the H&F Homes property used by one of his parents.
