A 36 year-old drug addict who terrorised elderly and vulnerable residents on the Clem Atlee Estate in Fulham has been slapped with an Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) following a joint operation between H and F Council and the police.
Conniving Stevie Gigg befriended elderly men on the estate in order to gain access to their homes. Once inside she would demand money, before taking over the property and inviting her junkie mates in to shoot up. She would regularly leave properties with drugs paraphernalia and needles strewn across the floor.
Many victims suffered from anxiety, stress and fear and needed to be re-housed. On one occasion, Gigg screamed and shouted outside the front door of a resident’s home at 2am, demanding money and causing serious distress to the victim.
The ASBO, granted at West London Magistrates Court on Wednesday August 6, bans Gigg from the Clem Atlee Estate and St Olafs Road. She has also been ordered not to ring any doorbell, approach, speak to, threaten or intimidate any resident residing in any sheltered accommodation within the borough.
Cllr Greg Smith, cabinet member for crime and anti-social behaviour, said: “This miscreant has got exactly what she deserves. Residents of the Clem Atlee Estate should be happy that we have now put an end to her manipulative ways. We will not tolerate this kind of behaviour in Hammersmith & Fulham and will continue to pursue those who think it is acceptable.”
Hammersmith Police Anti-Social behaviour Officer, Mel Mcleavery ,said : “Stevie Gigg has a substantial history of harassing the vulnerable with completely unacceptable behaviour. The elderly victims involved have enjoyed a bit of company to start with until Gigg starts to harass and threaten them for money and events have quickly got beyond their control, and they have found their homes taken over by an aggressive drug addict who is not beyond using any means possible to feed her drug habit.
“This ASBO has been sought and granted to protect our elderly community. We will continue to work with our partner agencies to get Stevie’s other problems resolved”.
