Teenagers were given the chance to obtain information on sexual health, relationships and drug support when the special Love Life Summer Roadshow rolled up at the Fulham Court Estate recently (Friday August 15).
Organised by the council's Teenage Pregnancy team and Turning Point Drug Link, the roadshow has been travelling around the borough all month, reaching out to young people who do not ordinarily access local services and who may not be in education, employment or training.
As well as providing educational information, the roadshow also featured many fun activities, such as streetdancing, T-shirt painting DJing.
Cabinet member Greg Smith attended the roadshow. He said: "The council wants to create a borough of opportunity and these kind of initiatives can help teenagers to maximise their potential. Children need both a first rate classical education as well as a clear steer from early on in life that drugs and getting pregnant during their teenage years will destroy their lives. That latter message should start in the home, but events like this help reinforce that message."
