Residents whose homes were overran by drug addicts can now live in peace after the council teamed up with the police to close a crack house that was used by some of the most prolific drug users in the borough.

Lannoy Point on the Aintree Estate, Fulham had become an addicts’ paradise. Junkies even befriended residents and forcibly moved themselves into their properties so that they could access the den easily.

Other horror stories refer to the smackheads sleeping on balconies outside the flat, urinating in lifts and intimidating tenants.

Numerous tenants complained to the council and H&F Homes but were too terrified to give official evidence. The council joined forces with the police and brought about a temporary closure of the hell-hole earlier this year.

Earlier this week, (Monday July 28) West London Magistrates Court agreed to close it for good. Police officers rammed down the door to the property on Wednesday July 30 and boarded up the door to prevent further access.

Cllr Greg Smith, cabinet member for crime and anti-social behaviour, said: “I am appalled that these people would have the audacity to exploit vulnerable, law-abiding residents in such a humiliating manner. We will continue to work closely with the police to eradicate crack dens in Hammersmith & Fulham. These drug users need to take a long hard look at their actions. It’s time for them to ditch the crack. It’s never too late to change your ways.”
