 Update: 9.30am - Wed Feb 1

Wood Lane and surrounding roads are now open as usual following yesterday's fire in an industrial unit in the area.


 Emergency update: 9.10pm - Tue Jan 31

Wood Lane is still currently closed to traffic in both directions. The northbound lane from Shepherds Bush to the A40 will be opened for traffic by 10.30pm. The southbound lane will remain closed tonight as the London Fire Brigade require access to the affected area. The LFB aim to have the road open in both directions by 8am on February 1, 2012.


 Emergency update: 3.30pm - Tue Jan 31

The A40 has now been reopened but the eastbound slip road at the junction of Wood lane will remain shut.

Wood Lane will remain closed until it is deemed safe to open to all vehicular traffic.

The A3220 (west cross route) has now been opened to all traffic.


 Emergency update: 12:45pm - Tue Jan 31

Fire brigade reporting that fifteen fire engines and around 75 fire-fighters are currently tackling the fire on the Unigate Dairies site on Wood Lane, Shepherds Bush, W12.

The fire is affecting a range of industrial units.

Station Manager Rod Horton who is at the scene said: “The fire is affecting a range of industrial buildings on the dairy site. It’s a challenging and developing incident at the moment and we’re likely to be at the scene for some time.”

The Brigade was originally called out at 9.35am. Fire crews from Hammersmith, North Kensington, Willesden, Kensington, Paddington and Chiswick fire stations are attending the incident. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.


 Emergency update: 12.20pm - Tue Jan 31

TfL reports that White City tube station is closed but the line is still running. London Overground services are suspended between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction.


 Emergency update: 11.20am - Tue Jan 31

Due to a building fire on Wood Lane, the Police have now closed some roads in the area.

The A40 Westway has been closed westbound at the junction with Marylebone Road.

Wood Lane has been closed in both directions.

The west cross route is closed northbound between Holland Park Roundabout and the Northern Roundabout.

Traffic is slow moving westbound on approach to the closure at Marylebone Flyover with congestion back to Euston Underpass.

Holland Park Roundabout is slow moving with congestion on all approaches. Eastbound traffic on the A40 is slow moving from the closure point at Savoy Circus with congestion currently back to Gypsy Corner.

Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and expect long delays.

 Emergency update: 10.30am - Tue Jan 31

Wood Lane has been closed in both directions, between Ariel Way and the A40, after a fire at unit 15 on Wood Lane. The fire brigade are on site and commuters are advised to avoid the area.
