Teens meet top designers

Teenagers made creative use of their school holidays working with top designers and artists at a third annual design camp.
The week-long activity, at Burlington Danes Academy in Shepherds Bush from July 26-30, attracted about 40 pupils from state secondary schools across the borough.
Design camp co-ordinator David Baker said: “It was a great success. Every year we try to expand it and make it better, and I think we achieved that.”
Pupils aged 13-14 had a choice of five workshops including textiles, scooter design, puppet-creation, musical instrument design and a Colour My School activity, making chalk designs in the Burlington Danes playground.
David added: “Their concentration, confidence and ability to work with others really improves during the camp.”
