Sheltered Accommodation Open Day
Tuesday June 16, 2009
Residents can learn more about sheltered housing options in the borough at a number of open days taking place in July.
The events have been organised so that people can look at sheltered housing as an independent living option and discuss their needs with housing experts.
Sheltered housing open days take place on:
Wednesday July 1, 10am to 4pm at Stanford Court, Bagley's Lane, opposite Manor Court, Fulham, London SW6
Thursday July 23, 10am to 4pm, Planetree Court, Brook Green, corner of Girdlers Road, London W6.
Both sessions will enable people to look at self-contained flats, the surrounding gardens and facilities and talk to sheltered housing tenants.
Cllr Lucy Ivimy, cabinet member for housing, said: “These events will be hugely worthwhile for anyone interested in sheltered housing. We have a wide range of sheltered accommodation schemes running the length of the borough. Many have excellent transport links and are within easy reach of shops, cafes, GP surgeries & pubs. Other schemes have guest rooms, communal laundries and lounges, well cared for gardens plus the security of a 24 hour emergency alarm system so come and learn more.”
Staff will be in attendance to advise on resettlement, how to apply for sheltered housing and to discuss other options that you might be eligible for. Food will be provided and transport for anyone with mobility issues as well as the chance to enter a draw for a £100 M&S voucher!
