Scrubs fun day a big success

Monday, April 6, 2009

Over 500 people basked in the sunshine at the Wormwood Scrubs Local Nature Reserve family fun day recently (Saturday April 4).

The day was held to celebrate the numerous species of plants and animals that can be found in the nature reserve and featured fun and games for people of all ages.

The Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham, Cllr Andrew Johnson, officially opened the day and free activities included a bouncy castle, climbing wall, face painting and Caribbean steel pan music.

The Mayor also travelled by horse and cart to officially open the brand new interpretation board at the north end of Artillery Lane next to the hospital car park.
