Yesterday's fire at Robert Owen House was brought under control in just under an hour.
There are no reports of any resident being injured although two members of the public were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
London Fire Brigade sent eight pumps and 50 fire fighters from Fulham, Hammersmith and Wandsworth stations. The H&F Homes Emergency Response plan came into effect and within a short period of time staff were actively working with the emergency services and H&F Council to efficiently manage the situation.
An H&F Homes spokesman said: “H&F Homes staff attended a serious fire yesterday in a low-rise block at Robert Owen House in Fulham. There are no reports of any resident being injured and a rest centre was set up in Hammersmith Town Hall for any residents not able to return to their home. We will ensure all residents are provided with suitable temporary accommodation if required. There will be a full investigation into the cause of this fire. The safety of our residents is our absolute priority.”
Fulham Palace Road has now been re-opened to both north and southbound traffic.

Following a serious fire in a top-floor flat at Robert Owen House, Fulham, around 40 residents in 24 flats have been evacuated from their homes. The fire is believed to have started just before 11.30am today (Monday, 26 July). Two blocks, 57-64 and 65-72, are affected. The emergency services are in attendance and the Police have reported that at this stage there are no serious casualties but one man in suffering from smoke inhalation.
The evacuated residents are being taken to a rest centre at Hammersmith Town Hall.
As a precaution, Fulham Palace Road is currently closed between Fulham High Street and Lillie Road.
