Residents quiz developers at forum

Monday August 2, 2010

Resident groups and councillors probed developers on a new six-storey building for Hammersmith at a planning forum organised by H&F Council on July 20.

Annabel Clarke, representing Cathnor Action Group and the Hammersmith Society, and Rosemary Pettit, of Brackenbury Residents’ Association, were among those asking representatives from developers Notting Hill Housing Association, their agent Savills and architect Hunters, questions about the size and design of a new scheme on the corner of Hammersmith Grove and Goldhawk Road.

The site currently comprises a garage and a block of 15 flats but developers want to transform the 2000 sq m area to provide 65 new homes – with 50 per cent affordable housing – an underground car park and bicycle storage space, and a communal courtyard.

The developers will continue to work on the plans and consult with residents, before submitting a planning application in the autumn.
