Residents help Get HF Moving
Wednesday July 6, 2011
Residents were out in force on Saturday July 2 telling the council what they thought about transport in the borough, at three mini Get H&F Moving road shows.
The ‘listening cab’ visited Ravenscourt Park, Parsons Green’s Fair on the Green event and Shepherds Bush Library, with officers collecting views from people about parking, congestion and cycling.
Christine Elliott of Shepherds Bush said: “There are too many road works everywhere and they’ve been going on for years. I would also extend the hours that buses alone can use the bus lanes.”
Sonya Abraham of Hammersmith said: “Fulham Palace Road, Wood Lane and Shepherds Bush Road are the worst roads. They’re really bad for getting stuck in traffic and even if you’re on the bus it’s a nightmare.”
The council’s transport campaign, which has been running since the start of the year, has attracted comments from hundreds of residents, commuters and visitors to the borough. The best comments are set to be discussed at a transport summit later this year, in the autumn.
