Library open day joy

More than 2,000 people enjoyed a fantastic fun day to celebrate the opening of the brand new Shepherds Bush Library.

The fun day took place on Saturday September 19 and featured fun and games for all the family.

Entertainment was provided by the ‘Music House for Children’, while a special tutor explained to children the best way to look after their pet dragons. There was also Punch and Judy, facepainting, craft workshops and walkabout entertainment.

Revellers also had the chance to visit the brand new £2m library, situated opposite Debenhams in the Westfield Shopping Centre.

The state-of-the-art two-floor library houses over 10,000 brand new fiction and non-fiction books, with over 1,000 new DVDs, 600 CDs and 25 computers for public use.
