Beau Honour
Emotional Rita Osakwe was lost for words after finding out she was one of the top performers at Hurlingham and Chelsea School.
The 16-year-old, who lives in Chelsea, passed an incredible 14 exams, and managed four As in English, maths, religious studies and statistics.
She said: "I can't believe I've done so well and to be one of the best is brilliant. After the exams finished I really thought I had done badly, especially in science. But I got a B in that which was really surprising because we had a lot of different teachers."
Other good performances came from Beau Honour, 16, from Chelsea, who scored two Bs and seven Cs, while Bethany Thompson, 16, from Battersea, recorded an A among her eight passes.
Friend Lauren Mundy, also 16 from Battersea, managed three As, two Bs and three Cs, leaving her in the mood to celebrate.
She said: "I'm going to have a barbecue and then I'm going to Thorpe Park. I can't wait!"
Headteacher Phil Cross said the school had recorded its fifth consecutive year of improvement, with 47 per cent getting five or more A*-C grades including English and maths, and a provisional 83 per cent of students scoring five or more A*-Cs in all subjects.
He said: "This is very pleasing indeed. Almost all of the pupils have exceeded their potential."
