Phil Cross, head at Hurlingham and Chelsea School, Peterborough Road, was full of admiration for his pupils. He said: “We are delighted with the results which represent an improvement for the fifth year running and provides yet further evidence that the community can have the utmost confidence that Hurlingham & Chelsea is a highly effective school. There have been some outstanding successes among individual pupils."

The number of students gaining five or more grades A* to C, including English and Maths, jumped from 36 per cent to 42 per cent. Wei Fang boasted a brace of A*s and 8 As. She is going on to William Morris Sixth Form to study double Maths, economics and philosophy. “Eventually I’d like to do something with finance and I am so very happy!”

Lilian Alchikh-Kasem was delighted with her results of three As and six Bs. She said: “I’m very pleased. I can’t believe it! It means I can now go to William Morris to study economics, Maths, computers and media.”
