Food safety week
Tuesday June 1, 2010
As part of National Food Safety Week, June 7-13, H&F Council is giving free fridge thermometers and goody bags out to borough residents.
This year’s campaign is focussing on how to prevent campylobacter – a bacteria that causes the greatest number of cases of food-borne illness in the UK – by cooking food thoroughly and avoiding cross-contamination.
Council officers will be at Kings Mall in Hammersmith on June 8 and Fulham Broadway Centre on June 9 to offer advice on how to properly store, handle and cook food at home, to help keep germs at bay.
Residents can also enter a competition to win £150 in shopping vouchers.
