Christmas and New Year information (2011)

Free Christmas tree collections and recycling

Last Christmas you helped us recycle 50 tonnes of Christmas trees that would have been expensively disposed of. Christmas trees will be composted and put to good use rather than going to waste.

If you have your recycling and rubbish collected in sacks from outside your home, leave your tree in your front garden or outside your property where it is clearly visible from the street and does not cause an obstruction on the pavement, by 12pm on your normal rubbish and recycling collection day from Monday 2 to Friday 13 January. Trees will be collected in the afternoon, not at the same time as your bags. Please remember to remove decorations.

There are also designated collection points where you can take your trees. These include:

  • New Kings Road (on edge of Eel Brook Common)
  • Fulham Palace Road Cemetery (opposite Queensmill Road)
  • Normand Park (opposite Lillie Road entrance)
  • Loris Road Community Gardens
  • Ravenscourt Park (by the football pitch)
  • Wormwood Scrubs Car Park (off Scrubs Lane)

If you have any problems or queries, please contact the Cleaner Greener team.

Like Monika, I left my tree out for collection on Wednesday - our recyling day. But it is still outside my house. Does this mean I have to wait til next Wednesday when it might be collected?

Our bins were collected on Wednesday but our Christmas tree''s were left by the bin men. We live on Landor Walk. Any idea when they''re going to be picked up? Thank you!

I live in Argyle Place W6. My tree was outside on the pavement by 12 yesterday but it was not removed.

It is behind the front wall, but visible, at the moment becasue of the wind. When will be taken away?

We are sorry that the tree wasn't collected on Monday but glad that it has since been taken away.

The Christmas trees were collected from your street on Monday at around 2.30pm and collected all the trees they could see. Our contractors will only take away trees that have been removed from their pots (this way they know it is a Christmas tree for recycling rather than a part of the property's garden).

If you have another tree that needs collecting, please can you make sure it is no longer in the pot, has no decorations on it and is clearly visible from the street by 12pm on your normal rubbish and recycling collection day.

We will also make sure our contractor checks your address on Monday.

We hope that helps.

Our Christmas tree was outside on 2nd of January (our usually day for rubbish collection is Monday), although all rubbish have been taken, Christmas tree was not removed until today. This same situation was happened last year. What should I do to make sure that the tree would be taken next Monday?

I bought a living xmas tree in a pot, thinking that i would donate it to a garden centre or nursery after the holiday. This is proving difficult. Does the council have any provision for actually REPLANTING trees, e.g. in a park?
I live on F. Pal. Road and would be thrilled to see it growing in Frank Banfield Park for instance!
