Over 400 residents attended the grand opening of the new Cathnor Park play equipment last week.
New natural and adventurous play equipment has appeared all over the borough recently and Cathnor Park in Shepherds Bush is no exception, gaining a brand new large climbing frame.
The event, held on Tuesday, July 20 featured face painting, den building and a tug-of-war championships. The police were also on hand to take fingerprints of children and refreshments and a picnic was provided by local pubs and cafes!
Cllr Greg Smith, Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services, said: “I am delighted that so many people attended this event. I am sure that the new climbing frame will be hugely popular with local children. Hammersmith & Fulham Council is committed to ensuring its parks have excellent facilities and this new climbing frame is evidence of that commitment.”
Annabel Clarke, Chairwoman of the Cathnor Park Area Action Group, said: “I would like to thank the Council for our very popular climbing frame. I would also like to thank everyone involved in making the opening ceremony and picnic so much fun for so many residents.”
