Brit Cops
Hammersmith & Fulham Police are the focus of a hard-hitting new TV show focusing on Britain’s elite cops.
Brit cops zero-tolerance is the fast-paced documentary, on satellite channel Bravo, which follows the nation's top crime fighters in action.
The first episode of the popular show aired two weeks ago and features local Police squads over the next eight weeks. Bravo’s cameras have been following local units, including the council funded beat policing squads from Shepherds Bush and Fulham. The first programme showed local Bobbies locking up drug-users, rogue motorists and brawling thugs.
Councillor Greg Smith, Cabinet Member for Crime & Street Scene, was filmed at the council’s Crime Summit for the show. He said: “This council has a zero-tolerance attitude to the criminal underbelly that exists on our streets. This programme graphically shows how the council is working with local police on a robust approach that has led to dramatic falls in crime locally. We are becoming safer and safer but this programme shows there is still more to do.”
The programme airs on Bravo from 10pm every Wednesday for the next eight weeks.
H&F’s no-nonsense Police Borough Commander, Detective Chief Superintendent Kevin Hurley, said: “This programme shows just what local police officers are doing on the streets of Hammersmith and Fulham. They are doing what I believe the public want; arresting drug dealers, robbers and anti-social yobs and being professional and dignified in how they do it. We are working hand in glove with the local council to make the borough’s streets safer and the continual reduction in crime is proof that our approach is working.”
