Auntie smells gas

More than 500 workers were evacuated from the BBC headquarters in White City after a refrigerator gas leak.

One person was taken to hospital but no one was seriously injured after the scare, which happened at 3.40pm last Tuesday afternoon (August 31).

The leak was investigated by firefighters who found gas seeping from a basement boiler room.

Tests found levels of gas did not pose a risk and the leakage was isolated before staff were allowed to return to their desks shortly after 6pm.
