A NOVEL PARTY: Fulham Library staff members Julie Lyons and John Wells enjoy the celebrations.

Fulham Library celebrated its 100th birthday last month.

To mark its centenary, the council organised an exciting day of activities that took place exactly 100 years to the day since the building was opened on October 21, 1909.

Library staff wore traditional Edwardian clothes, customers took part in a special quiz and there was a lace-making demonstration.

There was also face painting and children were given going-home presents.
