The EFDS is the national federation for all those organisations which represent disabled people in sport in England, principally the British Deaf Sport Council, British Blind Sport, British Wheelchair Sports Foundation, British Amputee and Les Autres Sports Association, English Sports Association for People with Learning Disability, and Disability Sport England. The EFDS has a regional manager in each of the ten regions of England who co-ordinates sports provision for people with a disability in that region.

BBS is the governing and co-ordinating body for sport in the UK for visually impaired people. Its main responsibilities are: to organise and develop sporting activities ranging from grass roots to national events and championships; to provide information and advice on sport for visually impaired people; to act as an advocate for people with visual impairment to maximise the quality and quantity of sporting activity available; to make grants to support sporting activities; to prepare and select men's and women's teams for international competition, particularly European, World Championships, Paralympics.
