GRANTS FOR GROUPS / INDIVIDUALS
Grants for Groups - Voluntary sports organisations based in the borough can apply to the Council for financial assistance. Applications are invited annually and would need to demonstrate their relevance to the Borough’s Sports Strategy, Social Inclusion Strategy and be a one off project benefiting local residents.
Grants to Individuals- It is recognised that there are a number of young people living within the Borough who have attained or are hoping to attain, high standards of excellence in the field of sport. For these people, the expenses incurred for training, coaching instruction, equipment and travel can become prohibitive to the development of that person in their chosen field. Therefore through the Linford Christie Trust a scheme of financial assistance of up to £350 for young people 23 years and under has been introduced. Decisions on grant awards are made by the Board of Trustees at regular intervals throughout the year.
