Know your blood pressure
On 24 May 2013 colleagues from the Stroke Association will be visiting Hammersmith Library from 10am - 12 noon and Shepherds Bush Library from 2pm - 4pm to set up stalls in our sites to hold Blood pressure checks along with giving out information about Stroke awareness month.
Why does blood pressure matter?
- High blood pressure is the biggest risk factor for stroke.
- It’s estimated that up to 40 per cent of strokes could be prevented if undetected high blood pressure was diagnosed and treated.

I Love Books Club
The I LOVE BOOKS Club is a collaborative fusion between Hammersmith London, the local business community and H&F Library. The club has flourished ever since its birth back in August 2010, where it started initially as part of a summer campaign to encourage reading in the borough. Notably, the book club is the first of its kind for the borough of Hammersmith and was designed especially to encourage interaction between the Hammersmith business community.
The club is led by library facilitator Sue Cornish and reading enthusiasts are invited to a 1 hour session in the Dartmouth Castle, 26 Glenthorne Road, Hammersmith, W6 0LS. Reading is sometimes seen as a solitary experience, but joining this club will allows individuals to freely express their own views as well listen to other people's take on the chosen book.
If you would like to take part in Book Club or would like to request more information, please contact Grace Nelson; g.nelson@hammersmithlondon.co.uk or call 020 8741 8157. Books will always be issued on a first come first served basis.
