Children's social workers - How to apply
This section of the pack will give you guidance and support with your application to Hammersmith & Fulham.
You will find in this section a number of documents, which you will find useful in submitting your application. These include:
- Application form
- Job description
- Selection criteria
All social worker posts are designated as exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This means that you must declare any criminal convictions, bindovers, formal warnings or cautions that you may have had in section 3 of the employment application form, even if they are considered as spent for other purposes.
When completing your application and writing your supporting statement, you will need to think about how this will read during the short-listing process. For your application to be short-listed and for you to be considered for interview, all sections of the application must be completed fully and accurately and your supporting statement should address all the selection criteria. As a guide, you may want to present your statement in sections with each
criterion as a separate heading. You will need to provide examples of relevant, related experience to meet the selection criteria.
Your application will only be handled by staff who are bound by the council’s policies on confidentiality, and its contents will only be shared with those directly involved in the recruitment process.
