- A generous leave entitlement: child care social worker 22 to 25 days, senior child care social worker
25 to 28 days. - A flexible working scheme in place for the majority of staff. We also offer a wide range of special leave entitlements that allow our workforce to go through normal lifestyle changes and circumstances without being penalised.
- The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). This is a voluntary contributory scheme into which you can pay 6% of your salary. As your employer Hammersmith & Fulham pay a contribution towards the cost of the benefits you will receive. It is currently a final salary scheme.
- A relocation allowance (for those eligible) to assist with the costs involved when a new employee relocates to within a reasonable commuting distance of Hammersmith & Fulham. We may be able to help with removal expenses, other relocation costs and provide you with local contacts and information.
- A contribution towards the cost of childcare (up to the age of 14) for eligible male and female staff the contribution is paid on a sliding scale up to £50 per week (subject to pay and circumstances).
- A progressive occupational health unit that offers staff various health checks, can arrange counselling programmes and administers the annual free flu vaccination programme.
- An interest free season ticket loan to cover the upfront cost of your travel, if you use public transport to get into work each day. This will be repaid in 10 monthly instalments directly from your salary.
- Competitive salaries to our social worker staff. Oneincrement is given for each relevant whole year of
post qualifying experience. After assessment against the senior social worker criteria, social workers can
progress from ‘basic’ to ‘senior’ grade. - A merit award system for all social workers permanently employed, which accelerates staff’s progression up the pay-scale. A merit award can be achieved through completing a recognised academic qualification – e.g. PQSW, CCA, AASW, PTA or through a competency assessment.
- Accommodation service – we have links with a number of local landlords, both private and social. We can provide advice and information on range of options including: A guide to help you find a place to live and guidance on the key worker housing options scheme to help social workers purchase their own home and information about low cost rental opportunities as they become available.
