About us
Information about our priorities, innovations and achievements
Hammersmith & Fulham is LGC Council of the Year for 2010!
Currently under Conservative control, the administration's priorities are:
- reducing council tax
- cracking down on crime and antisocial behaviour
- and delivering cleaner and greener streets and open spaces.
Our recent innovations and achievements
- We are the only council to have cut council tax four years running.
- We have put more beat Bobbies on patrol in all our town centres, deterring crime and antisocial behaviour.
- We are making our streets cleaner, improving refuse collections and improving parks.
- We have opened the first new library in the borough in 40 years - the new Shepherds Bush library has been delivered at virtually no cost to the taxpayer.
- We continue to support our most vulnerable residents, providing a wider safety net than most other councils and spending more on Freedom Passes.
- We have begun integrating the council and the primary care trust, to join up local services.
- We have an ambitious market-testing programme to drive up standards and help cut costs.
