Lone parents in-work support

Information, advice and assistance for parents or guardians returning to work

Lone parents - be better off!  The council’s Links at Work team provides support to single parents to help them enter and stay in work.

We want to ensure that lone parents have access to information so that they can make an informed decision about moving into work. And we want to make sure that they are fully supported so that they stay in work.
In this way, we hope to increase the numbers of lone parents in the borough who are economically active, and so reduce levels of child poverty.

Early Years Partnership
·         Assesses childcare requirements and matches these with the best possible childcare options available
·         Follows up with parents/providers to ensure that childcare issues are not barriers to remaining in work

Jobcentre Plus
·         Offers access to jobs
·         Provides support with claiming tax credit

Hammersmith & Fulham Volunteer Centre
·         Offers training in computers
·         Provides help with CV building
·         Helps with confidence building
