Elders resettlement service

Helping over 60s settle into a new home

We can help Hammersmith & Fulham residents aged 60 or over, to plan and complete a move into permanent accommodation

The resettlement team may be able to help you with:

  • Applying for grants, loans and benefits where eligible, to help cover some of the costs of the move.
  • Arranging removals.
  • Organising the disconnection and reconnection of gas, electricity and telephone or other utilities from your old home to your new home, or to set up new accounts for these for first time customers.
  • Claiming or help to continue to claim Housing Benefit and Council Tax or any other welfare benefit.
  • Accessing essential items of furniture (if eligible).
  • Providing information on services available -  for example, home care services, Careline alarm service, occupational therapy assessment in your new home, meals service and assistance to make referrals to these services if appropriate.
  • Transferring of any services you currently receive or making referrals to new service providers.
  • Ensuring changing addresses and registering with new GP if needed.
  • Obtaining information about local resources, leisure activities such as lunch clubs and classes, volunteer services and community groups.
