HIV/Aids
Our team of social workers (sometimes called care managers) provides services for people living with HIV and/or AIDS, their carers, partners, families and friends.
These services include:
- assessment of social care needs
- support and care to promote quality of life and maximise independence
- respite care
- terminal care
- advice and information
- sexual health promotion work by the community worker attached to the team.
The community nurse specialist provides assistance and support in the community to people taking anti-retroviral medication, dealing especially with adherence issues. We also provide nursing assessments and support and referrals to other organisations.
