HAFAD (Hammersmith and Fulham Action on Disability) has a direct payments team that can help you with general information about direct payments.
If you decide to take a direct paynment, HAFAD can offer advice and support to enable you to manage your direct payments independently. For example, they can give you support with all recruiting issues such as help with writing and placing job advertisements, personnel administration, shortlisting, interviewing, taking-up references, CRB checks and advice around employment contracts.
HAFAD can also provide support with matters relating to managing money. This includes help with opening bank accounts, arranging insurance, financial monitoring, holiday, sickness, maternity pay and pay rate advice.
