Communal support for people with learning disabilities

Two houses provide care and support for up to ten people in communal living settings. One of the homes provides a signing environment for people who have additional hearing impairments

Support includes: 

  • assessment
  • care
  • skills training
  • practical assistance
  • escort to community settings
  • advice and support     

People using the service have an allocated key worker to help them become more independent, develop and maintain social contacts and lead an active life.

Registered care homes in LBHF

Previously known as residential homes or nursing homes, as of April 2010, there are 21 care homes in the borough including four with nursing. To find the list of all care homes in the borough view www.cqc.org.uk. Search for "Find a care service", then scroll down to "Social care services" and finally look for "Location"
