Children and family care

Children and family care

We have a range of services for children and families. See the links on the left for more information.

If you are worried about a child or young person's welfare your first point of contact should be the family service’s front door service. Whether the child is a relative, neighbour or even a stranger we are there to help.  Call the team on 020 8753 6600.

A member of our team will discuss the situation with you, take down details and explain what services are available. We will make a decision within 24 hours on the best way to help the child or family.

We work closely with parents and families and our priority is to keep families together wherever possible.  We will carry out a detailed assessment of the situation by talking to the parents, children if old enough, and any other relevant professionals such as teachers or doctors.

For emergencies outside office hours that cannot wait until the next working day, please call the emergency duty team on 020 8748 8588.
