ASSIST - Adolescent CriSiS Intervention and Support Team

ASSIST is a service that works with young people (11-16yrs) and their parents or other carers to help families stay together

Our team includes different professionals such as: 

  • a teacher to support young people with school work and getting back into education 
  • a health worker to help young people with a range of health issues 
  • a connexions worker to help young people back to school, college or work 
  • a family support worker to give practical help to a family, for example helping with younger children attending school 
  • social workers with specialist skills to help resolve family difficulties.  

We work in partnership with parents, carers, young people, community and professional networks to support families to stay together. Much of our work takes place in the family home or in the community. Our aim is to keep families together and to prevent young people having to go into care.
