Recycling
In 2006/7 residents diverted approximately 14,440 tonnes of material from landfill. This means that about 24% of our rubbish was recycled.
Help us to reduce the quantity and cost of rubbish we have to send to landfill sites by recycling as much as you can. To help you we have:
» Smart Sack kerbside collections
» Where can I get more Smart Sacks?
» Smart Banks
» A complusory recycling trial in the north of the borough

Refuse sacks and dustbins
We collect refuse at any time from 6am on Monday to Friday. Please put out your refuse for collection either after 9pm on the evening before your collection day, or before 6am on your collection day. Refuse should be put in your front garden or outside your property where it is clearly visible. Please put refuse out in heavy duty refuse sacks or dustbins. Please do not use flimsy carrier bags, kitchen bin liners or put loose items out for collection.
