Free bus passes

Bulky Refuse and Furniture Reuse items

If you live in the borough, you can arrange a free bulky waste collection by emailing cleaner.greener@lbhf.gov.uk or by calling the Cleaner Greener Hotline on 020 8753 1100.   

We will collect up to three items of unwanted household furniture or domestic appliances, or up to ten bags of miscellaneous effects. 

This service is free of charge but must be pre-booked. To make sure all residents can use this free service there is a minimum four-week period between each free collection per household, please contact the Cleaner Greener Hotline to arrange a collection.

If you have more than three items of furniture, wood or garden furniture etc, we will collect it for a modest charge. Quotations will be given on request. A visit may be necessary in some cases. (The items to be outside ready for inspection)

We do not accept cash, but you can pay by credit/debit card, cheque or postal order. Cheques/Postal orders should be made payable to London Borough Hammersmith & Fulham (or LBHF) and posted to, Environment Department, 1st Floor - 25 Bagleys Lane, London, SW6 2QA.

If you are having building work done on your home by trades persons, you should make sure they are contracted to dispose of the waste they produce.

All items must be placed outside your home at street level ready for collection. Special arrangements can be made for disabled and elderly residents. We collect from Monday to Saturday inclusive between 6.00am and 3.00pm. In the unlikely event that we can't get to you on the appointed day, we will be there the following day.

Council tenants who have a caretaking service have separate arrangements for the collection of their bulky waste.  Please contact your caretaker or area housing officer to arrange a place and date for collection.


Furniture Reuse Service -NEW!

We are working with an organisation called Furnish, Community Furniture Store that will collect items of unwanted furniture and redistribute to vulnerable and homeless clients that are referred to them. If your furniture is in good condition, please contact the Cleaner Greener Hotline to arrange for a collection FREE of charge.


Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
There is currently no separate collection service for small items of WEEE (toasters, kettles, hairdryers, food mixers etc.) however residents may take these items to  the civic amenity sites in Wandsworth.  Please visit the WRWA website for details.  


Fridges and freezers and household appliances

The Council will collect the following household appliances for metal recycling: ovens, cookers, microwave ovens,domestic air conditioning units and dehumidifiers, washing machines tumble dryers and dishwashers.  

These appliances  are sometimes known as 'white goods', however all colours will be accepted.   
We provide a free of charge household appliance collection for all residents. (There is, however, a charge for trade premises). Please contact the Cleaner Greener Hotline to arrange a collection.

All items must be placed outside your home at street level ready for collection on your designated day. Special arrangements can be made for disabled and elderly residents. We collect from Monday to Friday inclusive between 7am and 4pm. 

In the unlikely event that we can't get to you on the appointed day, we will be there the following day.

To avoid accidents, please ensure that children or animals can't become trapped inside appliances left out for collection. If possible remove the door or locking mechanism.

Fire Extinguishers 

There is no separate collection service for fire extinguishers however residents may take their empty fire extinguishers to  the civic amenity site in Wandsworth where they will be recycled - Western Riverside Waste Authority, Smugglers Way, Wandsworth SW18. Please check the WRWA website for opening times or call Tel 020 8871 2788 as these vary for cars and vans.
